Aug 28/14 NAYLOR & COMPANY [INCORPORATED] 45 WALL STREET, NEW YORK Dear Dodo, At last I have received the new certificate from the Continental Oil Co. of Colorado. No. F2781 - 599.000/983.383 - Aug. 24/14. Also 4 checks of $1.83 each for the dividends due Sept. 16/13 - Dec. 16/13 - Mch. 17/14 + June 16/14 which total of $7.32 I have deposited today as per enclosed duplicate slip. Gretchen, I understand, left today & I trust you had a good time together. I am so glad to hear that the Dr. now wants you to visit him instead of his coming to see you. This shows how well you are getting on & very likely he wants to give you something to do. Ethel is due here this morning & I expect her to call me up any moment. There are one or two torpedo boat destroyers in the Sound near us. One is in Smithtown Bay & we can see it from our porch & our chauffeurs said there was another right opposite our bathing beach. This brings the thought of war quite near home. Goodbye. Your bro., Edw. [[stamp]] Archives of American Art [[\stamp]] Mrs. Peter Vorhees 1959
