NAYLOR & COMPANY
[INCORPORATED]
45 WALL STREET, NEW YORK

Dear Dodo,

This afternoon I went over to the office of the Treas. Dept. in the B'kyn P.O. & fixed up your matter. I think they just wanted to know that you had not included some old back taxes & none of your living expenses. Somewhat stupid, I think. Should you hear again from them let me know. I have kept copies of the figures.

The warm spell has been broken & I trust it is the last we will have this year. It rained a little last night, but not enough.

Ethel spent the night in town & is going out this afternoon with Theo.; Nanette got a sore throat so we sent her back to the country on Wednesd. She is now well again.

Tante Meta wrote also to Gretchen & to Mary. I hope the dear old lady will not have much sorrow or hardship. She wrote in one letter their victories were so astounding that the people feared it could not be true & questioned the official. Her last letter to Mary was dated the 6th inst. I also had a letter from Hans. His bro. is in France as is also his brother in law. Alex is in Coblenz & Beauherd is serving somewhere but not at the front. He is very rabid against Russia & France & thinks Eng. was just looking for a chance to down Germany. This is not quite correct, I think.

Hoping you are getting on well,
your bro.,
Edw.
