In the afternoon we took the motor thro' Gladstone, Peapack (what a name) Bernardsville & other places to see what the hunting country was like.

On election day the Sandersons took us to their farm near Rockaway, N.J., this is about 8 miles beyond Morristown. The land is very rough, having been long neglected, but the place has fine possibilities with a pond & two hills on either side. There is a small new farm house & barn on the place & also a camp which was used all summer by Friendly House.

I have had some very good hunts on Gus Helm this fall. He is going very well again. On Thanksgiving we expect to have the usual Point-to-Point race.

Recently I rec'd another letter from Tante Meta which Mary has now. They are all well & I suppose busier than ever with the wounded. The fighting lately has been something dreadfull.

The end of the month I have to go to Chicago for a few days. Too bad that R. & G. will not be there, altho' it is possible that Raymond may have to go back to Chicago for a meeting about then. That will mean, however, that we will both be too busy to see each other.

Ethel saw Anita Hoppenstedt at Kate's. Rose's husband was called out at once & went to the east against Russia I think. From Fred P. I hear that one of his cousins has been killed & two or three wounded.

Goodbye for the present.

With love from Ethel, myself &
the children,
Your bro.,
Edw.
