      Salt glazing on the pottery
3. Stain is added to the glaze
4. People wanted other colors related to blues and browns
5. Lead glazes was coming in the 1920's - people wanted changes

   Early thirties ('30's) - paintings on the pottery
   There was a move into commercial glazes

8. Technology in the home changed, pottery shapes had to changed also to accommodate this technology came in.

   Soft glaze was used
10. Red glaze was dangerous so had to change to other glazes
    Frit glazes - chemically bonding at higher temperature with other chemicals
11. 50 years - many changes have occurred
12. Clay is also brought in by other people as well
13. Clay will shrink so has to be balanced
    Good glaze - judged by the public
