"Ships that pass in the night"

Dearest#,

It was the nicest letter you have written me yet that came this morning, and made me quite anxious to see you again.

I am rather in disgrace with Papa just now, which gives me more time to myself. You see he noticed Mama had been crying this morning and wanted to

see. Alfred squeezes my hand first for me to remember what it felt like - its rather kind of him.

I hope you are cool. It really is disagreeable to be warm. I'm in such beastly mood that I think I will say Good night. Oh by the way do you expect to be here for the wedding? Excuse what you might consider foolishness - it is cleverness
G.
