Dear Marcia, 
Am also desperately trying to move- which entails selling my place (hopefully) for $7500. But my rent is very high (my reason for moving- $725 a mo) so the prospects look weak. Don't know of any cheaper lofts off-hand but if I hear of one, will contact you, and the same with workshops.
