and mangrove swamps -

In a few days I shall go north again - to Boston stopping in Philadelphia on the way - I shall have to do another portrait of Rockefeller for his Institute that I shall do somewhere in New York -

I feel horribly uneasy about Emily & [[Bessie?]], for fear they should come over here before it is safe. I am in the dark as to whether [[Bessie?]] is still

on account of too much wind, and possible submarines.

I wonder if I shall see Balfour when he is over here. probably not, for he is not likely to leave Washington.

Remember me to friends and pass this on to Emily in case of more letters failing.
