I am very glad you mean to come over here and I do hope you and Emily will come over together. The only thing is, don't be in a hurry to come before this submarine scourge has abated considerably. Emily is fierce in her outcries about my plan of coming over to fetch her - I should much rather do that than let her come


Washington - Emily has promised a visit there to some very tiresome old friends, with whom she could stay if I am at work there - And you could have the Spring Rites, and probably lots of other friends there.

I can’t imagine why you didn’t get a wire I sent you from Miami – I am sorry you would have been left to think I didn’t even do that –
