here in this overrated northern island where all your Americans have cottages & villas – it is cool, there is that to be said for it - & the heat is raging in Boston. I escaped our heat wave by going to Montreal to get a start of Sir Arthur Currie, one of my Generals, a few weeks ago.

Mr. Whartons little chateau sounds charming I was dining last night at her sister-in-laws, Mrs [[strikethrough]] Farrand [[/strikethrough]] Jones who sang its praises-

You will have heard by this time of Paul Manship a New York sculptor who is having a show at the Leicester galleries, & great success I believe - - I lent him 33 Tite Street, and he & his wife have taken Flora Priestleys flat at Carlyle Mansions. He is a rather wonderful artist & you ought to see
