out to get paper home all day listened to foot ball Mis came home with car about 430 Bessie Hill came with her
had dinner with us

Monday 20 Fair mild
Maurice came about 1030 to get spring and mattress
borrowed from Mis.

Tuesday 21 Fair warm
Left for our trip to New England went to H.P.s Place
in Saybrook via Merritt P.F. was there by 5 P.M. [[cooked?]] in H Mis had stomach ache

Wednesday 22 Fair mild
up by 7.Am breakfast and started to leave car would not 
start Man across road helped us get started got new part [[inkblotch]] at Norwich then on 5 st [[inkblotch]]Salem Mass got cabin on RI near Peabody Mass

OCTOBER 1947

Thursday 23 Fair mild
Drove to Salem and marble head saw "house of 7 Gables" then on to Glouster Forest fire there. Then on to Garretts cabin near Saco. fire raging all around
burned over that night

Friday 24 Fine cold
Breakfast in cabin then drove up to Portland drove around town then started back south via 25 and RI Drove to Brown cabin on Mohawk Trail

Saturday 25 Fair cool
up by 7am Breakfast then got car started and on to Millerton via N. Adams Stopped by the Hills place and got car fixed in America then on to NY via Route 22. -100 and Parkway.
