Mr. Palmer C. Hayden

July 6, 1938

Dear Sir:
We are wondering if you would not like to help us bring our records on Negro artists up to date. As far as we know, we are the only organization that has any record of this sort and it is valuable only as long as it is timely. As it is our intention to turn this material over to some existing organization to administer as soon as we can get it in shape, our records are made on the plan of the Frick Art Reference Library in New York. Won’t you please help us, and yourselves, by filling in the information on the form below?

CAN YOU SEND US A RECENT PICTURE OF YOURSELF (GLOSSY PRINT) EITHER WITH OR WITHOUT YOUR WORK FOR USE FOR PUBLICITY?

Very sincerely yours,

Evelyn S. Brown
