TO: All self-supervised Artists

Self-supervised artists will as of October 14, 1940 be covered by the following timekeeping procedure:

A weekly work schedule will be arranged for each self-supervised artist by his immediate supervisor. The schedule will show the hours to be worked and the location.

Self-supervised artists who find that it is not feasible for them to work at the hours and the location indicated with notify their immediate project supervisor sufficiently in advance, of the exact change, indicating the hours and place to substituted for those not to be worked, in order that this can become a part of the record any time for checking or investigation. This notification, which may be by means of telephone or a personal visit, must be confirmed by mail within twenty four hours. Failure to conform with this regulation will cause the artist to have his status of self-supervision removed immediately. It will also result in the loss of any salary involved in the hours found not to have been worked. The purpose of this change in timekeeping procedure is to make possible closer supervision and checking. If removal of the self-supervision entails removal from the division in question, this shall also be effected.
