on Friday p.m. was filled- except the 2:30 p.m. and I couldn't even get on the waiting list for the later ones. So decided to take off early. I have no classes anyway, only labs in the afternoon. The family has to get together and decide what to do with Pop's affairs. Lil suggested I make the trip, and at first I said no. Then I realized I had Monday off which makes all the difference.

I was a little leery of taking off the afternoon because one day Dr. Dunnau caught Bob as he was leaving school to go home around 1 p.m. and asked him "are you going home?" Bob said "no!" but it was obvious he was. So he wrote the whole dept a letter saying he was horrified at the student teacher ratio and student hours per week of the art teachers. and unless the art Dept. found some more meaningful ways of using its free (lab) times, he would have to reduce the salary of the art dept. by 1/3. Other depts. have a bigger load of students. Now Bob has always done what he wanted with his free time. If he had no classes between 11 and 2 he'd leave & go to shows or shop or whatever. He even tried to get the computer to arrange his schedule so he'd have no classes Monday morning & Friday afternoon so he could spend more time in the country! I'll just tell Denise there's an
