Catholic monastery, but now belongs to the St. Aubyn family. At the foot of the Mount on one side, are the retainer's pretty cottages. Up to a week ago people were allowed to walk around the island and through the castle, but now at certain hours you are shown around by a guard. The guard led us to the parapet, where we saw the ancient look out and guns used in the time of war. The chapel is the only part of the castle we were allowed to enter; but we were able to peep through the windows of one of the rooms, where we saw hanging on the wall some life size portraits of the family.

A short time ago some human skeletons were found under the chapel floor and no one knows how long they have been there. Some of the stained glass chapel windows were very ancient, but others represented members of the St. Aubyn family. In the chapel is an old organ which has recently been restored.

Although we enjoyed walking up the Mount, we still thought it seemed more romantic as we saw it from the train.

From Warazion we took the train to Penzance
