Academy. The two pictures there that impressed me the most were the Council of the Academy by Hubert Von Herkomer and a large painting of Harvest Time by Frank Brangwyn. Herkomer's was a great character study and the posing was very natural and easy. Brangwyn's, with his men carrying huge loads of grapes, accompanied by groups of women and children carring the fruits of the harvest, was wonderful in it's daring of color and made everything esle in the room look weak. Beside some paintings of Alferd East the collection did not impress me as being very strong and could not compare with our own Academy.

In the evening we dined at the Tracodaro and enjoyed listening to their orchestra. Afterwards we went to see the Dairy Maid's which was a good comic opera and made us laugh till our mouths ached.
