This morning we went to see Shakespeare's memorial theatre, where every year plays come to act his plays. The theatre has an art gallery of paintings that are not very good, but interesting, because they are of old actors and actresses that acted in his plays. In front of the building on the lawn is a statue of Shakespeare with figures of Lady Macbeth, Hamlet, Falstaff and one other, grouped around him. From there we went to the house where he lived and saw his birthroom and old desk, brought from the grammer school.

In the afternoon we went to see the quaint school where Shakespeare went. It was founded as early as 1402. In one of the rooms you can still see where the school stage used to be. It is here that Shakespeare saw his first play.

Around the corner is Mason Croft the residence of Mary Corelli. The house, is right on the street and bright with boxes of flowers on the window sills and vines growing up the sides. In back is a large open field, where the little stout lady
