It was still three miles off, but a delightful walk through fields, with fine old elm trees. Sir Guy's Cliff was worth a longer walk. We sat down on the beach near the quaint mill and looked over the mill pond at the beautiful castle which Gifford sketched in pencil.

Across the street from our lodgings is St Mary's the Warwick Church with it's belfry and like the bridge shows many signs of age. From the belfry the quarter hour is chimed and lasts about ten minutes on the hour. Usually the tunes are hymns, but occasionally Home Sweet Home and others. The interior of the church is spacious and of a very simple style.

In the evening we went over to hear a voluntary organ recital. The music was very inspiring, for the organ was a fine one and the organist quite a musician. After the recital was over, we went up to tell the organist how much pleasure he had given us. Then we walked down to the bridge to muse in the peaceful
