till after dinner. During the night we went out to sea for a couple of hours.

August 23, 1908.

Sunday morning the yacht was laying off of [[Naess?]]. The sky was heavy with clouds that hung below the mountain tops and rested on the peaks almost hiding them from sight. It was a charming effect.

We walked way up the valley seeing many pretty views, to a landslide, that had happened only last May. The whole side of the mountain had rolled down and up the foot of the mountain opposite, covering several small houses, that were fortunately vacant at the time.

The yacht only stayed a short time here, for it was not in the schedule, but the Captain had made an effort to take us there because of the disappointment of missing the first part of the trip. It is a Fjord rarely visited and beside being more interesting for that reason is one of the most attractive we had seen.

Soon after dinner the yacht anchored off of Morak [[Merok]].
