and saw the Scotish Regalia in the Crown Room
The Regalia had been lost sight of for a long time but by the help of Sur Walter Scott was brought to light once more. 
The Castle is extremely interesting and the citadel being in the midst of the city, commands a fine view.
Across from the Hotel is a little Restaurant called the Green Cafe We thought it would be fun to try having dinner there The dinner was only a three course one, but good and the waitresses amused us the way they whistled and sang to themselves while waiting It was evidently not very well managed Later we went to the Royal Lyceum to see the Girls of Gottenberg which was rather a silly comic opera, but on the whole we had a jolly time

To-day we spent at Melrose, seeing the Abbey and Abbotsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott.
Melrose is a pleasant little town surrounded by a beautiful undulating country that Sir Walter must have loved.
