Later in the afternoon we were caught in the rain and made ourselves look rediculous in borrowed clothes while our own were being dried.

After dinner we went back to Oban, arriving there wet and dishevelled, but with the recollection of a pleasant day.

This day was bright and windy and we walked along the round, then up the Castle path to see what was left of the ruins, which stood on a steep cliff overlooking the water and the distant hills. 

September 16, 1908
At eight thirty A.M. we were on the boat to finish our trip down the Caledonian Canal. It was cold and raining besides being rough, so we missed the scenery. At Craigendorin we changed to a train and arrived in Glasgow after dark.
