rambling out houses. In the rear, is a garden laid out with beautiful box hedges and the lawn in front, slopes gently down to the Potomac. The lower part is enclosed for tame deer. The interior of the house is furnished simply and in excellent taste, giving the feeling of comfort. The rooms are not large, but have an air of space and cheerfulness. The kitchen, with its large fire place and dutch oven, long wooden table and quaint cooking utensils is thoroughly homelike. The weaving house contains the old family spinning wheels.
In front of the house is a spacious brick porch with tall pillars, which gives a delightful view.
The old coach, that must have been in the family use, still stands in the coach house.
The whole place has an air of aristocrasy.
