Sketching Trips

Spring has called us out and to-day in the first thunder storm of the season we arrived at Cold Spring, the starting point of our trip. We are located in the midst of promising subjects, which is stirring to ambition.

April 24, 1909

There are splendid walks about Cold Spring Mountains where ever you look and very often the river is in view.

It is a chilly windy day with the bluest sky and here and there small white clouds.
Dolly and I decided to pick wild flowers. We walked across fields and past several lovely country houses, stopping on the way to look around us. The mountains are still colored all sorts of beautiful lavenders of the winter time.
