     May 5, 1909
  It was a day of effects. The vapory atmosphere made the mountains appear dreamlike and beautiful.
  We had chosen to drive up the Riverroad At Stormking the silver water from the reflection of the sunbeams, with the blue and gray sky above, gave a stunning appearance. At the same place, on the way back it was even richer, with the golden clouds mirrored in the sheet of water below.
  Most of the blossoms and the early wild flowers, blended together, to give a delicious fragance to the air.
  All the falls and brooks were at their best and came tumbling and laughing down.
  There were many fine hills on one side of the road and charming view, up and down the river on the other.
  Our hired horse had had a pretty easy time, for we drove slowly so as to enjoy the the wonderful sights of springtime.
