Darling Girl

Please excuse this lead pencil but I am writing on the train on my way to Newburgh. You see I have been spending Saturday and Sunday in Port Chester and I am going back to Newburgh to vote. I have hurried around so the last few days that it is a great relief to get on the train for Newburgh again.

Of course you must be in Texas by this time and I am awfully anxious to hear how you like it and most of all if you miss me. I can think of you in Texas riding over the planes on horseback and having a beautiful time with your cousins. It's a picture I have to dwell on and think about. when I think that you are mine and I am yours it makes me feel sometimes like exploding with happiness.

were at the Campribi's but you don't know how hard it is for me to express my feelings in writing. I just simply can't find the words. So if anything I write at any time strikes you as cold or irritating I know you will forgive me for it. I love to write to you and feel like doing it most of the time. You know it is the next best thing to talking to and seeing you but after all it's a very poor substitute. But the greatest pleasure I have is thinking that I now have somebody I love and can work for and who will spur me on you have no idea how fine it makes me feel.

Good bye Sweetheart
Lovingly Gifford
