I know I have to go out to the lake. I get such fine treatment that it is a great pleasure. Of course I am blue when you are not there but it comforting to go and talk about you and have some of the other things you write home. I expect to go up to Newburgh again around the holidays. You know a person gets awfully stale in New York and the trips I take away always freshen me up.

Dearest Girl

I was so happy to get your nice long letter. I was really getting quite shaky. You have no idea how good it made me feel. I was getting quite blue but the letter dispelled it all. I think it is the nicest one I have received from you.

I spent nearly all day yesterday making a funny water color drawing for the children and I haven't finished it yet. They all wrote letters
