I know I am a poor letter writer and you have a right to be provoked at me but won't you please forgive me because above all the little mistakes I make I love you and want to please you.

You know I have been thinking of Texas lately and think there muse surely be some good things there to paint. They must have some fine sky effects and great exanses [[expanses]] of country. You know that sort of thing always appeals to me and I am looking forward to my trip for many reasons. I think I will bring different kinds of clothes, heavy and 

every one seems to be doing these days. I am such poor hand at that sort of thing. I always leave everything till the last moment, a great fault that I must overcome. I stopped in and bought you a present the other day and hope you will like it. If you don't I can have it changed you know, and if you want your initials on it I can have them done at any time free of charge. I remember you spoke about one of those hearts and having my picture in it. The trouble is I haven't a small picture of myself but I will have one taken and send it to you. I hope you will like it. Maybe you prefer the greenish gold but you know the greenish tinge
