Dearest Girl
It hardly seems possible that it is the New Year and it seems so funny to write 1907 at the beginning of letters. Last year seemed very very short to me and I suppose that was because I was so happy most of the year. When you come to think of it; It didn't take us very long to find out that we loved each other. I love to look back on that time when I first knew you and go over all the little things that happened between us. The things you said or did under this or that circumstance and finally that time out in the canoe when I first knew that you loved me. I can't tell you 

it all night It comes off Friday the eleventh so I will spend two or three days in Newburgh around that date. 

I will probably start South about the eighth or ninth of February, and must work hard between now and that time to get my pictures all ready for the exhibition. I have never felt so good about my work as I do now and I think I have made big strides this winter. It has been a great thing for me to be in New York this winter as it gave me an impetus to work harder and do better things but my first love is the country and "its there that
