Dear father,

If you'd use your time and strength writing of yourself, &, of some of the suggestions I made - instead of devoting it to a discussion of the Rochester folk - I'd much prefer it.

I do not wish to discuss them - I never have.

Do you remember when I went to R- before - to bring you to New York- You & they said - "the Dr. wouldn't let you come - you were not well enough, etc" - yet - when the Dr. came,

[[malaire?]] - especially as you've had no use of your legs for so long, &, circulation can't be good!

Your memory must be extra good if you can recall something that happened on my return from California. I do not know to what you refer - but I do know that I never treated any one "outrageously" at any time, either in your house, or any one's else's.

Before mother went to P. your son told mother that the R. folk didn't want her up there - that they told him so - &, told her not to go.

(Met wrote saying mother & I would be welcome, etc., and, as she owned the house, I supposed she meant it) -
