ALEXANDER HUART, being duly sworn, says: At the time of the death of Mr. Henry W. Ranger I was employed by him as butler and my wife, Hilda Huart, was employed by Mr. Ranger as cook. We lived with Mr. Ranger at his studio, 27 West 67th Street, New York City, and also during the summer time at his house at Noank, Connecticut. Both my wife and myself are still living at the studio, taking care of the furniture, pictures and other articles there. My wife and I had been in Mr. Ranger's employment for about eight months previous to his death. Prior to that we had both been employed by Mr. Louis Cohen, artist, at his studio in the same building and had been with Mr. Cohen for about a year. Both my wife and I are Belgiansby birth. I will be 37 years of age in January next and my wife is of full age. The employment of my wife and myself by Mr. Cohen ended by reason of his death and it was through the recommendation of Mr. Cohen's brother that I was employed by Mr. Ranger in the same building. Mr. Ranger had been frequently at Mr. Cohen's studio and knew both my wife and myself while we were employed by Mr. Cohen.

Mr. Ranger's studio at 27 West 67th Street consisted of six rooms and necessarily my wife and I were very familiar
