ESTATE OF HENRY W. RANGER.

Memorandum dictated May 21, 1917, at 11 A.M., by Major H. A. Hull, of New London, Conn.

On Friday, the 18th of May, 1917, I visited the home of Charles W. Clark and his wife, Eva Clark, on the outer edge of Weedsport, and personally had an interview with Mr. and Mrs. Clark in the presence of Mr. Adams, a coal dealer residing in Weedsport.

Mr. Clark is a man about seventy-five years of age, Mrs. Clark is about sixty-five years of age. Their home is almost directly opposite the farm house where Henry P. Ranger, Louise W. Whitmore, the wife of Henry P. Ranger, Clara M. Ranger, widow of John N. Ranger, a son of Henry P. Ranger, live. This farm house is the place where it is claimed by the petitioner, Edith Ranger, Mr. Henry Ranger, the deceased, visited in January, 1916, where the important conversation concerning the Will of Henry Ranger was said to have been held.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark told me at once that they were acquainted with the Rangers living at the farm house, and that they remember the only visit Henry Ranger, the artist, ever made to the farm house, and that visit was about six years ago. It was a notable event, the Rangers and the other people in the community talked about it a great deal. They were absolutely certain that Mr. Ranger was never there after the visit of six years ago.
