Darling Betts

In turning out I came across my book of poems, written many many years ago, some when I was 16-18 years old.

Here is one I wrote to you when you had gone from me. I think it has beauty.

"I plucked the beauty from your face & in my memory its grace lives with me still.
As in my ear the finest note, caught from a bird of song, prolongs its life in echos infinite".

1933 Roosefelt is the first gray hair in America's head, he is telling them & not the rest of us.
