Emily doesn't like walking at all, but when she sees me starting off alone, although her "leg or knee or foot hurts" when I suggest a walk to Council Crest or somewhere equally as difficult, she invariably comes running after me. because she doesn't like me to go alone. She thinks it is dangerous & lonely for me & she cannot stand me to take a chance alone.   I never go more than a 2 hrs tramp with her. She leads me on some of their horseback trails & is so delightfully entertaining that I adore having her with me. She reads and remembers what she reads, & tells me

in this, but Bill adored his sister & thought he should give John one more chance. So, Bill has been working hard getting it all organized. It will be under a different name too.   It is well under way now, so Mulkins went over to do some driving for him & then to the Hunting Club for a week & after that they will motor over here with the Stevens-Duryea Car so I can have it while our Limousine is being repainted. 

It has been a gorgeous Autumn here. Two days ago, I walked over 8 miles. I enjoy the tramps around these mountains. Emily & Jane go
