better yesterday that it was all I could do to keep from being discouraged but fortunately he seems better today and said he got three hours sleep last night which it seems is three hours more than he has had for several days.

I have been reading and studying my S.&H. most faithfully and I seem so "dense" to myself I wonder if I will ever be able to make a hole in this veil of mortal beliefs.

I have started reading S&H. from the beginning, again, and in trying to help B. work out this problem. Mr. Duncan told us to study P. 113 2.9 "The fundamental propositions of divine metaphysics" and I have found it so interesting and absorbing that I've been studying all of that chapter. I thought that if you haven't stumbled on it, it might interest you.

I know that you are too busy right now, at the height of the summer season to devote a great deal of time to study but when you can, do look at that page and study the ensueing ones.

I was interrupted at the end of the above sentence. B. woke up — had a half hour sun bath and seems much more relaxed and brighter. I then took little Schnitzel out of the car and we had a merry time chasing squirrels — the grounds here are full of them So now as soon as I finish this I think I will go out and get B some raspberry ice.

Mary Summerlin wrote that she had sent your blankets 10 days ago did you receive them? Do drop her a note and thank her, for it must have been some bother to her.

B and I are reading Betsys book and are finding it charming. I hope that I shall meet her this summer.
