BARON VON ROMBERG WEDS EMILY HALL

Ceremony of International Interest Takes Place at Church of the Transfiguration.

She is Married to G. P. Shutt at St. James's - Winifred Trask Wed to H. M. Lee.

An international marriage of much interest took place yesterday afternoon in the Church of the Transfiguration, when Miss Emily Hall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hubbard Hall of Santa Barbara, Cal., who have been at the Hotel Gotham, was married to Baron Maximilian Hugo Converse Wilhelm von Romberg of Wiesbaden, Germany. The Rev. Dr. Randolph Ray, rector of the church performed the ceremony in the presence of many relatives and intimate friends of the couple. 

The bride was escorted by her father, who gave her in marriage. 
She wore a le Long mediaeval princess gown of cream-colored satin, made with a court train of the same material draped with tulle. Her veil of tulle was arranged in Juliet cap effect and caught at the sides with clusters of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of calla lillies.

Miss Jane Hall, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of Spring green taffeta with a natural-colored straw picture hat trimmed with green and pink ribbons. Her bouquet was of Spring flowers. The bridesmaids were Miss Huguette Clark and Miss Margaret Alexander, who wore frocks of pink taffeta with hats like that of the maid of honor. They also carried Spring flowers.

Albin Miley of Santa Barbara, Cal., acted as best man for Baron von Romberg, whose ushers were Burrell Smith and Beauchamp Smith of York, Pa. The ceremony was followed by a reception at Sherry's. Baron von Romberg and his bride will go on their wedding trip to Washington, D.C., thence to Santa Barbara. On their return in the Autumn they will divide their time between Boston and Wiesbaden.

The bride is the granddaughter of the late Stephen Morgan Smith of York, Pa., inventor and manufacturer. She was educated at Miss Madeira's School in Washington, D. C., and Miss Ransom's School in Piedmont, Cal. 

Baron von Romberg is a son of the late Captain Baron Maximilian von Romberg of the Eightieth Prussian Fusiliers, the first German officer to fall in the World War, and of the present Mrs. Richard Wayne of Nice, France. Through his mother, the former Miss Antoinette MacDonough Converse, he is a grandson of the late Edmund C. Converse, financier, and a great-grandson of the late James C. Converse of Boston. He is a nephew of Mrs. Converse Strong of Santa Barbara and of Edmund C. Converse of Santa Paula, Cal. 

Among the guests at the wedding were the former Ambassador to Germany and Mrs. James W. Gerard, Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius F. Kelley, Miss Cornelia Kelley, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Ryan, Mrs. William Andrews Clark, Mrs. George Converse of Santa Barbaba, Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pierce, Miss Maria Padilla, daughter of the Spanish Ambassador and Senora Alejandro Padilla; Mrs. Marcus Daly, Mrs. Daniel Hennessey, the Misses Beatrice Bixby, Anne Brown, Harriet Brownell of San Francisco and Alice Eastland of San Mateo; also Robert Douglas Montgomery, David du Bois, Frederick Fletcher and Frederick McNear.
