that such language could not be permitted in my presence & that she would be required to pay the amount rightly due to those who had laboured for her.  She then informed me that she should appeal over my decision   Mr Bragg who is a member of the Freedmens Court was present.  he is agent for judge for the Whites.  I told her that I had no objection in the matter if she so desired I stated the case to Maj James Johnson V.R.C. who said that my action in the matter was correct.  I purpose to bring this case to trial on my regular court day this present month - and any opportunity will then be afforded this woman to show cause why she should not pay that which is undoubtedly a just claim on this part of the Withers party  I have never been guilty of insulting or ill treating any person.  Since my arrival at this place much less a lady in the person of Miss Hally. I have simply done my duty as I understood it - I shall proceed with the case of Withers vs Hally in the same manner that I have with similar cases and shall endeavor to deal justly with all without prejudice to either.
