Before me personally appeared the undersigned Dr. J.E. Lynch being duly sworn deposes as follows. My name is Dr. J.E. Lynch. I live in Memphis Tenn at no 357 Main St. On May the 1st 1866 as I was passing along Shelby St. I was called into Dr. Butts and Johnson's Drug Store and saw a white man (Dunn) in a dying condition from a wound in the back of his head. As he was dying, I did not make a careful examination. Cannot say if it was a bullet wound or not. He died shortly afterwards. (signed) Jos. E.
