Before me personally appeared the undersigned Norris Davis who being duly sworn deposes as follows:

My name is Norris Davis I live in the City of Memphis Tenn. near the cor of Causey and South Streets on the night of the 2" day of May 1866 the house in which I live was set on fire and destroyed by Policeman and others my clothing discharge papers from the army and one Hundred dollars in Money was burned up or taken I have no means of knowing the names of the Policeman but they wore their uniforms In consequence of having everything destroyed I have been compelled lie out of doors ever since.
