Before me personally the undersigned Henry Hunt and being duly sworn deposes as follows. 

My name is Henry Hunt and I live in the city of Memphis Tenn am a discharged soldier  I live on what is called Grady's Hill in South Memphis. on the night of the 4" day of May 1866 Six white men came to my house and asked if there were any niggers Soldiers there  my wife Lucy Hunt told them no that there was no person here but my Husband. I was hid but heard them they said I had better leave there and they then went to another house. I took the things out of my house to leave when they returned and burned them up  they also took from me $325.00 in money the loss of my property would amount to $250.00 my wife knows one of the party
