Before me personally appeared the undersigned Boston Sherfield and being duly sworn deposes as follows:

My name is Boston Sherfield am a discharged Soldier I live inn the City of Memphis Tenn. On the evening of the 2" of May 1866 as I was going home I met three white men in South Street one of them collered me while one a (Policeman) held a Pistol to my breast and the third robbed me of 36.00 Said they would kill me if I was not a cripple.
