who was clerk in the store she asked if he could change the bill. After Henry Gowen saying it was a $100. bill, she said hand it back to me for she wanted to show it to the old man Nelson Franklin. Gowen was boarding at J Watsons at Saundersville, while there he mentioned the fact to an Irishman who was also living there. I do not know the Irishmans name but he is now working at Mr Franklin's, at Station Camp Creek about three miles from Saundersville. Said Irishman mentioned a couple of weeks ago to Mr Wm Franklin the fact that this woman presented a $100.00 bill at Yeatman's store some months previous. He William Franklin then said he had missed that bill. Franklins son-in law Elliott came down to Saundersville yesterday to find out about the bill Nelson Franklin then went back to William Franklin his old-master and I do not know what conversation passed between them.
