Never in the History of Our Country has the people of all classes so universally been at farming operations in order to prepare for the coming year and I have no doubt [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] if the seasons continue but what the Government will be relieved of the burden of feeding these destitute people. It is true that there will always be some of these destitute people in our midst on account of their inability to farm and the loss of Fathers, Brothers and husbands in the late War upon whom they depended for a support but after the maturity of the present crop I have no doubt but what our own people will be able and willing to take care of these. The foregoing report is respectfully submitted and I may add that Language is inadequate to portray the true condition of our unfortunate Country Georgia Whitfield County} personally comes G W Selvidge who on oaths says, That to the best of his knowledge and belief, the foregoing facts are true.
