Before me personally appeared the undersigned Nathan Tuester and being duly sworn deposes as follows

My name is Nathan Tuester I live in the Corner Causey St and Browns Avenue in the city of Memphis Tenn

On the night of the 2nd day of May 1866 two houses situated on south Street and owned by Mr F. Feldman were destroyed by fire at the hands of some person or persons connected with the riot then going on the city - they were occupied by colored people at the time they were burned. I have known the above described property as belonging to Mr Feldman for the past four or five years - the houses were worth ($750.00) seven hundred and fifty dolls each
