Before me personally appeared the undersigned Maze Harrison and being duly sworn deposes as follows,

My name is Maze Harrison  I live on Vance Street Just beyond the Corporation limits of East Memphis  In the latter part of April 1866 I went down the Miss River to chop wood  about twenty two miles from Memphis

When I left here I left my trunk in the care of Shack Robinson who keeps a Saloon on Echols Street

He has informed me that his Saloon and everything he had in it was burned up and that my trunk and clothes were burned also by rioters during the riot in the City on the beginning of this month  my loss amounts to about $150.00
