Before me personally appeared the undersigned Edmon Bristol and being duly sworn deposes as follows

My name is Edmon Bristol I live in the city of Memphis Tenn on the 1st day of May 1866 after night [[strikethrough]] after [[/strikethrough]] a party of white men came to my house and demanded entrance. I let them in. They then ordered me to deliver any arms I might have to them. I done so, they made me open a chest I had and took from it $300.00 in money a watch worth $15.00 and a revolver worth $18.00 threatened to kill and abused me very badly striking me with a revolver on the face and head.
