Personally appeared before me the undersigned Cynthia Townsend who upon being duly sworn deposes as follows:

My name is Cynthia Townsend, I live in the City of Memphis Tenn. in Raven Street. On the 2d day of May 1866, while looking through the spaces of the fence in front of my house, I saw a man named Cash shoot and kill a coled., soldier named Charley Wallace, who was running from them at the time. I also saw the policeman Roach shoot a colored soldier and then Galaway put a pisotle to this side and fired, he fell dead instantly The colored soldier was quietly walking along
