| March 7, 1866 Respectfully referred to Col. Samuel Thomas. The officer was assigned to Miss. by orders from the office dated March 6 1866. (sd) M. Woodhull A.A.G. Apl 10' 1866. Recd back with report of Lt. Blanding. This man Bamford is in part correct so far as the board of myself & Mrs. West & daughter are concerned. But the Board of the Servant, especially the male servant as he was employed to assist his cook is incorrect. When he presented the bill I refused to pay it, by agreement between myself & B. their services were equivalent to their board. Affidavits of servants can be obtained by to this statement. When correct bill is presented I will be happy to pay. March 11th 1866 Respectfully represented to A.G. USA where attention is invited to the report of Lt. Blanding hereon (sd) O O.H. M.G.C. |
