Deposition of Moses Western (Freedman)

On Monday the 4th day of June 1866 about ten oclock I saw Bryant Langston by himself under the R.R. shed and another negro was there named Joe, he had been fighting Saturday night and he (Joe) said "My trial comes of this evening". and Bryant replied "Yes Joe, you are kin to me and before I see you to go to jail like that other fellow (Ben Brown) I'll suffer my life to be taken." that is all I saw.

I Moses Western (Freedman) do solemnly swear that the above statement is true to the best of my knowledge and belief.
