which date I was wounded and taken prisoner in the battle of Glendale. I was paroled from Libby prison and after recovery and exchange, served again in the field as Major of my regiment until discharge.

I was appointed Captain in the Veteran Reserve Corps June 8th 1863, Since which time I have been appointed Major and Lieut Colonel successively, holding the latter lineal rank at the present time.
