Dear Miss Schmidt: Please excuse my delay in answering you letter of October 17th. I have been away from the office so much lately that I have sadly neglected my correspondence. Your letter does not make entirely clear to me just what you have in mind in connection with your proposed survey of the economic and cultural position of artists in this country. However, I should be very glad to meet with your Committee if we can find some mutually convenient time. In view of the pressure of work at the Fund, perhaps the best idea would be to plan to meet some evening next week. Won't you please get in touch with me? Cordially yours, J. Frederic Dewhurst J.
