WHITNEY MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART

Mr. Henry Schnakenberg,
601 West End Ave.,
New York 24, N.Y.

Dear Mr. Schnakenberg:

I am overwhelmed by your letter of February 3rd enclosing a copy of the testimonial to my mother and of the eulogy of the Museum which she founded and which has been carried on so many years by her and by Mrs. Force.

The letter of these artists, whose work and advancement were so dear to my mother's heart, shows a relationship and an intmacy which she always felt for them, and comprises a document which inspires her Trustees to endeavor to continue the work and functions of the Whitney Museum of American Art, wherever it may be finally located, as a true American Artists' Museum and to retain all those qualities and attribuets which have distinguished it in the past, particularly in its relations with living American artists.

Sincerely yours

(signed) Flora W. Miller.

President.
